18 Things about 18 Months
Caroline-
I can’t believe you are 18 months- right in the middle between 1 and 2! I love you so much and want to document a few things about you right at this moment so that I will always remember all of the little details about this amazing time in your life.
18 Things about 18 Months
1) The Stats:
- Height- 33.75 inches (96%- uh, holy moly!!!!)
- Weight- 25lbs 8 oz (68%)
- Head Circumference- 47 cm (64%)
2) C always sneezes twice- no matter what! Now, sometimes it is a break…like a minute- but you can count on it, there will be a second sneeze
3) You have great manners (with a little reminding) and always say “peeeez” and “tank tu” (please and thank you)
4) You are OBSESSED with the “poddy” (potty) and don’t want a “deeeeper” (diaper). Mommy is not ready for you to potty train- so, we have been avoiding it. But, when you ask specifically- you get to use the “poddy” and have actually done your business quite a few times- crazy! Now, you only want to use the big “poddy” and were not the least bit interested in the “poddy” I bought you
5) You can correctly identify the people in your life that you see regularly: Mommy, Daddy, Mimi, Pop, NeyNey (Renee), Noreee (Nora), Darby, Wiwy (Lilly- NayNay’s dog), Awwee (Annie- NayNay’s other dog), Meggie (Meghan), Bear, Baby (anyone C’s age or younger)
6) You can point to all of your body parts: head, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue, belly, belly button, feet (and can say them all, too!) You can also say most of the animal sounds.
7) Your favorite word is “No!” And, you are not shy about telling anyone who isn’t listening to you. Your other favorite words are: mommy, mine, eat and more- a girl after my own heart.
8) You aren’t totally sure what your name is…you seem to have settled on “me” and will say “me” while tapping your chest
9) Your favorite food groups are fruit and cheese- you would live off of fresh fruit and cheese if it was up to you! You can go through a pint of blueberries in 1 sitting- and will tap on fridge saying “booooberry peeeese”
10) Your favorite toys are your playhouse, ATV, chair, books and Elmo DVD’s.
11) You love dogs- especially NayNay’s dogs- Lilly and Annie. You love to say “no no no!” to Lilly! You have a dog from your Aunt Em- you love making the dog bark by patting its back and giggle.
12) I am raising you right and you can correctly identify “Cocky,” but you are deathly afraid of him (and all dressed up people for that matter- Santa and the Chic Fil A cow included). We are working on that J)
13) You love to be the center of attention and if people are cheering and clapping for you- you turn into a clown trying to keep everyone’s attention
14) You say more words than I can count- and you repeat literally EVERYTHING! Good thing we don’t really know anyone with a potty mouth- so you are copying things cute like “holy moly,” “oh no,” “woa,” “wee,” “eek,” “uh oh-” I knew my prudish nature in regards to profanity would be a good thing! You also are very polite and regularly say “peees,” “tank tu,” and “cooooz me” (please, thank you and excuse me)
15) You sleep every night on your tummy, with the fuzzy part of bear under your cheek, your pink fuzzy blanket tucked all around you and your hand behind your head- an odd angle, but it is like your pat your head- it is the sweetest thing. During the night, you always semi-wake-up around 1-2am and sing ever so softly. And you sing/hum yourself back to sleep- melts my heart. And, when you wake up- you call out “hi mommy, hi mommy!” But, you don’t actually stand up till I open the door. And then you pop right up and scoop bear and your blankie and want to me to hold all of them and you! And then we sit in your rocking chair and snuggle for a few minutes each morning- love these few simple moments we get to share each day- just us time! Perfect way to start my day!
16) You love to “hep” (help)- no matter what I am doing- you like to be right in the middle and keep saying “me hep”
17) You think that you can talk to Daddy on any computer- if we are ever near a computer- you will say “Daddy, daddy, daddy” and knock on the computer!
18) Playground- you know how officially can play on most playgrounds pretty independently. While, I am a little glad that I am not longer climbing through tunnels on my stomach- I am a little sad that my baby is a little less of an itty bitty baby. You even shoo me away now b/c you want to do it by yourself.
Basically- sweet baby girl, I love you to the moon and back! Limiting my list to 18 was near impossible and I could go on all day about your sweet self. I am so lucky to have you in my life. You literally make each moment of each day brighter. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow, the next day and every day after that brings in our journey!
Love you my little miss,
Mommy

A Dinner Date
Caroline and I's current "hangout" is the local school playground. Well, this past week, we invited our sweet friend, Warner to join us. Warner is ALL boy!!! I am always talking about how much of a dare-devil Miss Priss is- Warner is even more adventurous! It was so much fun to see these two together. When we first started hanging out with Warner and his mom, Kristy, our babies were just beginning to take their first steps. To see them running, sliding, jumping, climbing, (and a few tumbles), is just amazing. It has only been a few months and our babies are seeming more like toddlers. (Ok, Bruce- I know you think she is already a toddler, but she is a baby in my mind thank you very much!) After playground fun, we heading off to Moe's!
Aren't they the cutest??? (Caroline seems very concerned with what Warner is eating in this last picture!)
