When the going gets tough...keep going!

So, some days are hard. I am not going to lie.  I feel like it is my job to be strong and keep everything going but sometimes it is just hard.  I feel like I have hit a brick wall: I am exhausted, emotional, overwhelmed, lonely, etc.  I have turned into that desperate girl who keeps calling people to "chat." I am still struggling with the loss of my friend, Jen.  I have a million things I want to say to her- and I can't.  I want to be able to talk to B about everything I am feeling, but there never seems to be the time.  I am lucky to im for a few minutes a day.  It is a feeling of overwhelming loneliness.  However, when I felt like I was hitting such a huge low, over the baby monitor, I heard the sweetest sound of Caroline talking.  I went in there and saw this:

This was exactly what she (and bear) looked like when I walked in.  I was so glad I had left the camera in her room and could catch this "sweet conversation." It reminded me how incredibly blessed I am.  I guess the Lord knew I needed a little perspective in life.  I am lucky and I am grateful. 

Deck the Halls!

Caroline was the perfect Christmas elf- helped to hang the ornaments.  (There are a few pictures where we are not quite as happy about the fact that once the ornaments are on the tree- they stay there and you don't take them down and try to throw, roll, eat, etc. them...tough Christmas life lesson to learn!)

 Miss C was quite fond of the stocking she picked!! You do have to check it periodically to make sure she hasn't shared her sippy cup, a random cracker, toy etc. 

 And, of course, we were quite fascinated by the tree when you turn the lights off!!

I will be honest- now that the house is decorated, I feel quite festive.  However, I do miss the hubs and not being able to share the fun with him! 

One Sick Turkey

This is one tired mama!! It all started w/ me getting a stomach bug Sunday night.  By Tuesday, Miss Priss had a 103.7 fever. Between doctor's visits, medicine, trying to keep some sort of household order, etc- blogging hasn't made the to do list (Sorry Bruce!) I promise- I will do better :)

Sick Momma= Lacking Blog

So, not much appropriate to blog about. I woke up at 12 am with a nasty stomach bug. Thank goodness for my wonderful mom who came over and helped get Miss C to NayNay's and help take care of me. No matter how old you get, you still need your mom when you get sick!!

Do I feel guilty? Not one bit! Got in a good run, ate some yummy, homemade spinach lasagna, snuck in a hot bath, took an hour nap, and spent most of the day just snuggling and playing with this little piece of heaven:

It is all about priorities! And, my priority will always be my family! Now, if we can just get B back home, I could add: spent the evening watching a movie w/ the hubby! Now, that would have just been the icing on the cake!

Just What I Needed

Today, I made and followed through with some decisions. It was one of those days that I missed B just a little extra on top of how much I already miss him! He is my go to and talk things out person and it was hard to not have him be just a phone call away. But, timing is perfect and when I got home from work today, there was a package waiting!

While I was grabbing the kitchen scissors (literally in the kitchen for 10 seconds), Caroline decided to do this with her box of diapers...

Then, we opened and explore the box- which we loved everything in it!!

Then, we rode our zebra for a little while before bed...

Boundary Testing

Well...my sweet little girl...has some very strong opinionis about what she does and does not want to do, to eat, when to sleep, and just about everything else.  So, that is all fine and good except for when we have a difference in opinion. That is what we are working on now...needless to say- this momma is tired!! But, no matter how opinionated (aka strongwilled) Miss Priss...how can you absolutely not love this sweet face:
