Happy Monday! Ok, officially a week has gone by and I am like the Little Engine That Could…I think I can, I think I can…I will say that I have a new respect for single moms- doing the working mom thing all by myself is exhausting- I don’t think I have ever been so busy in my entire life.
Exciting news that happened after I posted yesterday, C went “poo poo” in the potty! Yay!! At 13 months, she already is showing an interest and while I am definitely not ready to start the potty training process yet, if she asks to go- I will be letting her go!
This morning, I snoozed more times than I would like to admit before finally dragging myself out of bed. I couldn’t help but think about that commercial where the kids are playing soccer and one looks like an order of French fries and his mom says, “Does Jimmy seem to be moving slower to you?” to another mom. And, then it pops up with the message: You are what you eat. Perhaps my dinner, unhealthy but delicious, consisted of fried mushrooms, half an elephant ear and a diet pepsi. Oh well! You only go to the fair once a year, right?
So, I rushed around the house to get ready and load my car with all the stuff for B’s care package. Then, I had to wake up a very tired C to head to Nay Nay’s! When I got to work this morning, the yellow roses from Friday were in perfect bloom and totally brightened my day.
After work, Caroline and I headed to the post office. Managing a 13 month old at the post office for 45 minutes was insanely difficult. Let’s just say, we went through like a half of their stack of “Santa’s Helper is the USPS” stickers J
Then, we had a fun dinner date with Warner and Kristy at Libby’s. It was so great to talk with someone who went through/is going through what I am to some degree. Being the wife of someone who is deployed is a hard to explain experience. At any point, you could feel tired, overwhelmed, sad, lonely, etc…it was nice to talk about that with someone who understands!
Now, the countdown continues.. .
We'll have to do it again! You'll be so happy you have this blog!!
